DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

What We Do

Food + Beverage Innovations, LLC has developed Jevo, the first fully automated gelatin-making machine. However, our business is more than just gelatin shots; it’s really about providing solutions that eliminate the manual process of making gelatin through innovation in our products, processes and technologies. Think about Jevo with vitamins & supplements for the fitness space, healthcare and even for the home!

After almost five years of product development, we are in the market and looking to hire a highly motivated Marketing leader with exceptional relationship building and communication skills to provide ongoing, strategic oversight to our sales and marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Plans

  • Achieve annual sales, share of market, and profit objectives for the fiscal year

  • Develop and drive long-term vision, strategy and annual plans for the business in response to economic, consumer and other trends

  • Engage with senior leaders across the company to develop multi-year brand strategy for the brand; oversee the budget

  • Demonstrate critical thinking and proactively adjust strategies as needed to deliver plan

  • Develop deep understanding of food + beverage space, including on-premise best practices

  • Develop content strategy as well as hands-on content creation

  • Develop digital content and web strategy using internal and external resources

Business Management

  • Analyze and understand key business trends, track and report business results weekly, monthly, and quarterly. Provide recommendations to address issues in a timely manner.

  • Oversee and approve demand-generating opportunities, and price strategies that will drive profitable growth and increase market share; create social media, SEO and SEM strategies

  • Collaborate and provide direction to outside vendors (agencies, PR, design, etc.)

  • Channel and portfolio management – work with other functional leaders on new product rollouts, data and research to inform functionality and identifies SKU rationalization strategies/decisions, when needed. Ensure new products are in line with brand strategies; develop go-to-market launch strategies

  • Work with team on channel-specific offerings

  • Collaborate with the Sales and key stakeholders to understand and inform marketing strategy as related to on-premise objectives

  • Collaborate with design functions on custom and program assets to ensure branding is aligned and compliant with company guidance, and that material is ready for field marketing and field and/or inside sales use

  • Act as support liaison between on-premise needs and creative/media agency partners, as needed

Industry/Market Contacts

  • Build strong, collaborative cross-functional relationships both internal as well as external with strategic partners and suppliers

  • Work with Sales and Customer Success to activate the marketing plans through a customer and channel-specific lens; focus on appropriate on-premise strategies and execution

  • Periodically participate in customer calls to strengthen strategic relationships and understand issues and opportunities

Organization Development and Team/People Management

  • Lead a small marketing team that includes internal and external resources

  • Coach individual performance to improve the contribution and results of all direct reports

  • Proactively model/demonstrate leadership and functional skill competencies, and inspire and motivate the team to achieve higher performance

  • Build the capabilities of the function as the business scales

Education & Experience Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree required

  • 10+ years of experience

  • Experience leading brand strategies

  • Experience managing a team

  • On-premise food & beverage experience highly desired

  • Experience with trade shows and events desirable

  • Willing and able to do some travel (industry events/trade shows)
